Welcome! I am a mom to two wonderful kids, a lovely retired greyhound, and a wife to a great husband. Needless to say, there are a lot of daily messes to clean up around our house. Daily Messes is my blog to share ideas on things to do with your kids, snack and meal ideas, crafts, and holiday fun. I hope you find something to enjoy!

Frankenstein Cups

Today is Frankenstein Friday! In honor of this holiday, we made Frankenstein Snack Cups! These are easy to make fun snacks and are great for at home, a Halloween party, or a school snack. I made 19 of these for Higgins school snack and they took me about 1 1/2 hours (making the filler mix, decorating cups, and filling cups).

To make these snacks you will need:
  • Dark chocolate frosting
  • Vanilla Frosting
  • Green wafer/cake cones
  • Round, brown candies (like M&M's)
  • Snack mix for filler (such as pretzel sticks, Goldfish, peanuts, cheese crackers, small candies, raisins or dried cranberries)
  • 2 Ziploc bags
  • Toothpick
Directions:
1.   In 1 Ziploc bag, fill with chocolate icing. Squeeze out air and seal. Cut a small
piece off the corner of the bag.
2.   Fill the other bag with vanilla icing. Squeeze out air and seal. Cut a small piece off the corner of the bag.
3.   On each cone, you will poke a small hole about 1 1/2 inches from the top of the cone on either side with the toothpick.
4.   Cut a pretzel stick in half. Insert into hole in cone, but let about a 1/2 inch to protrude.
5.   Use the chocolate icing to pipe hair along the top of the cone. Also pipe a scar and a mouth.
6.   Use the vanilla icing to pipe on 2 small circles for the eyes and add the candies for pupils. Let dry.
7.   Fill the cone with the snack mix. Let some of the pretzels stick out.
