Welcome! I am a mom to two wonderful kids, a lovely retired greyhound, and a wife to a great husband. Needless to say, there are a lot of daily messes to clean up around our house. Daily Messes is my blog to share ideas on things to do with your kids, snack and meal ideas, crafts, and holiday fun. I hope you find something to enjoy!

Getting Organized: Plant Markers

Have you ever planted seeds and forgotten what you planted? Here's a fun craft most kids can do that can help you keep your seedlings organized!

You need:

Insert stick into middle
Directions:
  1. Take the clay out of the package and knead until soft.
  2. Form into shapes. (We did a worm, but you could do the shapes of the plants. i.e. make a pumpkin, carrot, tomato.)
  3. Insert popsicle stick into clay.
  4. Use toothpick to draw on eyes, mouth, etc.
  5. Cover a cookie sheet with  aluminium foil. Place shape on foil and bake at 275 degrees F for 15 minutes per 1/4 inch thickness.
  6. Allow to cool.
  7. Write the name of the plant on the popsicle stick and press into the soil!
