Welcome! I am a mom to two wonderful kids, a lovely retired greyhound, and a wife to a great husband. Needless to say, there are a lot of daily messes to clean up around our house. Daily Messes is my blog to share ideas on things to do with your kids, snack and meal ideas, crafts, and holiday fun. I hope you find something to enjoy!

Toilet Paper Roll Bee

Here's another recycled toilet paper roll craft; today it is bees!

For these simple crafts, you will need:
  • Toilet paper rolls
  • Yellow, Black, and White construction paper
  • Glue stick or craft glue
  • Scissors
  • Clothespins, optional
Directions:
  1. Measure out toilet paper roll length on the yellow construction paper. I lay the roll down, align the top with the top of the paper, and mark the bottom. I then roll the paper around the roll, allowing a little overlap and mark.
  2. Cut out "body" from the construction paper.
  3. Next, trace out 1 inch wide strips on the black construction paper and cut out.
  4. Trace and cut a circle for the head from the yellow construction paper.
  5. Trace and cut out wing shapes.
  6. Glue the body piece of paper to the roll. I use clothespins to help hold the paper together while it dries.
  7. Next, glue on the stripes. I used 3 stripes. The top and bottom stripes were held on using the clothespins, but I had to hold down the middle one until it dried since the clothespins weren't long enough.
  8. Glue on the wings. Hold down with clothespins to dry.
  9. Draw a smiley face on yellow circle and glue on. Hold down to dry.
  10. I cut out small strips from the black paper for antennae and glued them on too.
