Welcome! I am a mom to two wonderful kids, a lovely retired greyhound, and a wife to a great husband. Needless to say, there are a lot of daily messes to clean up around our house. Daily Messes is my blog to share ideas on things to do with your kids, snack and meal ideas, crafts, and holiday fun. I hope you find something to enjoy!

Easy Icicles

When I picked Higgins up from school, they had made these little icicles. All the kids were walking out holding their icicles and looking very proud of themselves. It was so cute! When we got Bernardo home from school, he wanted to make some too.
These are a great craft for the kids to do, with very little help from you. You will need:
  • Aluminum foil
  • Yarn or string
  • Glue and brush
  • Glitter
Directions:
1. Tear off a piece of aluminum foil.
2. Fold the piece of foil in half.
3. Squish the foil together to form a long icicle type of shape.
4. Cut a piece of yarn and tie ends together.
5. Fold one end of the icicle over the piece of yarn.
6. Dip the brush in the glue and paint a thin layer over the icicle.
7. Sprinkle on glitter. DM Tip: Make sure to cover the entire work surface with newspaper or craft paper. I did not and spent more time cleaning up the glue drips and glitter off the table than the kids spent making the icicles.
8. Hang to dry. DM Tip: I hung ours in the basement on the laundry line so that if the glue dripped it wouldn't ruin the floor.
