Welcome! I am a mom to two wonderful kids, a lovely retired greyhound, and a wife to a great husband. Needless to say, there are a lot of daily messes to clean up around our house. Daily Messes is my blog to share ideas on things to do with your kids, snack and meal ideas, crafts, and holiday fun. I hope you find something to enjoy!

Sweep Your Way Into Snacks: Broomstick Bags

These are a cute way to decorate the table, make place settings, or serve snacks/goodie bags for a Halloween party!

You will need:
  • Brown paper bag (1 per)
  • Raffia (a straw-like ribbon type of material)
  • Scissors
  • Sticks or Dowel rods
  • Spider rings (optional)
  • Filler (candy, treats, small toys, etc.)

Directions:
1. Cut about 2 inches from the top of the brown paper bag.
2. Fill with candy, toys, favors, etc.
3. Insert stick or dowel rod.
4. Tie bag closed around the stick with a piece of raffia.
5. Trim a bunch of raffia (about a handful) so it is the length of the paper bag.
6. Spread around the bag and tie with a piece of raffia.
 7. Attach the spider ring.

There's a bonus too! You can use it as a flying broom!
