Welcome! I am a mom to two wonderful kids, a lovely retired greyhound, and a wife to a great husband. Needless to say, there are a lot of daily messes to clean up around our house. Daily Messes is my blog to share ideas on things to do with your kids, snack and meal ideas, crafts, and holiday fun. I hope you find something to enjoy!

Deep Sea Lunch: Octopus Day

Today is Octopus Day! For lunch, the kids are having Octopus Hot Dogs! These are super easy and quick to make. After lunch, we're going to color Octopus pictures (see below for a coloring page).

You will need mac & cheese, hot dogs (1 per kid), mustard, Goldfish.

Directions:
1.  Leave 1 inch at top of hot dog, cut lengthwise in half.

2. Turn 1/4 way over, cut in half again.

3. Slice each leg in half to create 8 legs.
4. Place in pan, cover with water, bring to a boil. Remove from heat and set aside.

5. Make the Mac & Cheese.

6. Drain hot dogs.

7. Place Mac & Cheese on a plate or in a bowl. Place hot dog on top of noodles. Use mustard to create eyes. Place Goldfish around the bowl/plate. (Using color Goldfish will make them show up more. I only had yellow ones and they blended in with the noodles.)

To add to the octopus fun filled day, here's a coloring page!
