Welcome! I am a mom to two wonderful kids, a lovely retired greyhound, and a wife to a great husband. Needless to say, there are a lot of daily messes to clean up around our house. Daily Messes is my blog to share ideas on things to do with your kids, snack and meal ideas, crafts, and holiday fun. I hope you find something to enjoy!

Deep Sea Cupcakes

I've been in a baking kind of mood lately and wanted to make something fun...so, Deep Sea Cupcakes were born! The plus side is that they're really easy to make.

The total time for these cupcakes (from baking, cooling, and decorating) is about 2 hours.

For these cupcakes you will need:
  • 1 package cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the back of the box)
  • White Icing
  • Blue Gel Icing color, or food coloring
  • Fish candies
  • White pearl sprinkles
  • Black writing icing, optional
Directions:
  1. Bake cupcakes. Cool.
  2. Color icing blue for water.
  3. Frost cupcakes.
  4. Divide other white frosting into different bowls and color. (i.e., green for seaweed, yellow and red for fish)
  5. Pipe on seaweed, fish, crabs, octopus, etc.
  6. Add on eyes with black writing icing.
  7. Add on white pearls for air bubbles.
  8. For easier decorating, use candy fish or cut out shapes from fruit leather/strips/roll-ups.
