Welcome! I am a mom to two wonderful kids, a lovely retired greyhound, and a wife to a great husband. Needless to say, there are a lot of daily messes to clean up around our house. Daily Messes is my blog to share ideas on things to do with your kids, snack and meal ideas, crafts, and holiday fun. I hope you find something to enjoy!

Button Flowers

For this craft you will need:
  • Buttons
  • Cardstock paper
  • Dowel Rods (Cookie/lollipop sticks work too)
  • Hot glue and glue gun, or craft glue
  • Ribbon or embroidery thread
Directions:
  1. Glue the start of the ribbon to the bottom of the dowel rod and wrap around. Glue again at the top and trim off excess ribbon.
  2. Let dry.
  3. Stack the buttons together and tie together with yarn or embroidery thread. (My son got frustrated trying to thread the embroidery thread through the buttons, so I ended up gluing the buttons together.)
  4. Glue or tie onto Dowel rod.
  5. I glued our flowers to foam sheets to make cards.

Easy Option:
  1. Glue the start of the ribbon to the bottom of the dowel rod and wrap around. Glue again at the top and trim off excess ribbon.
  2. Let dry.
  3. Cut out a round, or flower type, shape from the Cardstock paper.
  4. Glue buttons onto paper.
  5. Glue paper onto dowel rod.
