Strawberry Baskets

I remember making Easter baskets out of strawberry baskets as a kid. When I was little, the strawberries came in a green plastic basket, not the clear plastic containers they do now. (That sentence makes me sound so old, even though I'm in my 30's. Soon I'll be saying something like, "I remember was gas was $0.89/gallon!"). Anyway, back on topic...You can still find the plastic baskets at some stores and at local farmer's markets.

For this craft, you will need:
  • Plastic Basket
  • Ribbon
  • Scissors
  • Craft glue or hot glue/gun

Directions:

1.  Weave ribbons through basket rows. I tucked the ends in and secured with a drop of craft glue when we were done weaving. If you have the room, add more rows of ribbons in. My son was weaving this one and only wanted the three colors.

2. Create a handle. I braided some of the ribbon together and tied on. Once it was tied, I wrapped additional ribbon around to hide the knot, tucked the loose end under and secured with craft glue. You could also glue or staple on a paper handle.
